VENDOR SPOTLIGHT
JANICE SHAMBLIN
THE ASTRUP COMPANY - SEATTLE, WA
New to Form &
Fabric is vendor spotlight. This ongoing piece gives our readers
an opportunity to learn a little bit more about those special
people who have devoted their lives into helping our business
every day. It is no surprise that our first spotlight would be on
someone with a long history in this business, Janice Shamblin from
the Astrup Co.Janice began her
career 35 years ago for Cantex Supply in Wichita, Kansas where she
worked inventory control. (Some of us can still pick up the
accent.) In 1979, Janice relocated to Salt Lake City to open a new
branch and serve as Operations Supervisor. By 1984, Janice was
named branch manager of the Salt Lake City location.
In 1986, Cantex merging with Astrup,
decided to open a Seattle location and Janice found her
opportunity to move to the beautiful Pacific Northwest. For 12
years now, Janice has made Seattle her home. She is proud of their
ability to ship same day from the Seattle warehouse. She is also
proud of their staff, including Scott Shamblin, Operations
Supervisor; Jerry Ray and Angie Kramer, Sales; Laura Lepeska and
Jolene Evans, Customer Service and John Hook, Warehouseman. Janice
promises you the best service and going the extra mile to help
make your business grow.
On a personal
note, Janice has been happily married for 36 years.
CONGRATULATIONS! Her hobbies include quilting and painting. She
has a daughter, Angie (Form & Fabric reporter) and son, Scott. She
is also blessed with three terrific grandchildren, Koby, Taylor,
and Alex. Anyone who meets Janice feels important immediately. She
is devoted to her business and always keeps her customer's needs
first. I have known Janice for 20 years now and found her to be a
caring and trusting business ally. Currently she serves on the
WCPA board as First Supplier Director. On behalf of the WCPA we
salute you, Janice Shamblin!
