1999 Award Winner Pike Awning

This year the WCPA members provided many hot photo contest entries into the
annual IFAI Awards Competition in San Diego,
CA. Many members walked away with significant recognition and
awards as some of the nicest work in the world is done right here
in our own backyard.
True to that
statement is our focus on the 1999 Achievement Award winner in
Renewal Category, Pike Awning
Co. of Portland, Oregon. When I spoke with Ken Spearing,
President of Pike Awning,
he told a classic story of business in the new millennium. "The
client checked out our website, saw a similar before and after
pictures of another building and said that's what I want!" Designs
and drawings were created, contracts were signed. Some powder
coated galvanized tube, a whole lot of Sunbrella, some beautiful
graphics and 180 feet awning, led to this year's winner in the
renewal projects category.
Now all of us
know it isn't that easy, however Ken sets a great example of using
all of the tools and resources we have today to get the most out
of our time in the selling process. The customer was convinced
what he wanted when he first visited Pike's website. The rest was
easy, right? A quality design and finished product.
Way to go Ken
and congratulations to all of the WCPA members who walked away
with hardware this year! |
