LETTER FROM THE 2000 WCPA PRESIDENT
" Leadership is a potent combination
of strategy and character. But if you must be without one, be
without the strategy. "H. Norman Schwarzkopf ,Retired U.S. Army
General. This is the time of year that we see a few changes on our
Board of Directors. We are grateful for the hours of energy that
Board members voluntarily contribute to the WCPA. We are blessed
with an abundance of leadership. As General Schwarzkopf has
advised us, we have been long on character among the people who
have served us. And, sometimes we haven't done too badly in the
strategy department.
1999 was a great year for our
organization. 2000 promises to hold many more good and positive
developments. We look forward to an outstanding Convention & Expo
in Reno. Joe Belli and Eric Christensen have done a super
job getting things organized. Be sure to make the time to make it!
Reno is also a fun, little town to spend a couple of days in. Lake
Tahoe isn't very far away for skiers. Come a day early or stay a
couple of days afterward. The Board is also planning on
strengthening our Membership Program and recruiting processes. The
three active Regions (Northwest, Central West, and Southwest) are
making plans for different gatherings and programs. The Regional
Directors listed below take responsibility for coordinating these
events. Give them a call to find out what's happening in your
locale.
Finally, thank the people who serve
you on the Board. You'll find their names below. They spend a lot
of time, money, and energy trying to make our industry a better
and more professional one. Serving is voluntary and each person or
company must pay their own way. Strong on character, becoming
better at strategy, we are an all voluntary army.
