MFA WESTERN REGIONAL WORKSHOP
WRAP-UP
MFA held its first successful
Western Regional Workshop in Tacoma, Wash., Sept. 25-26.Sixty plus
industry members attended the conference, which featured a line-up
of activities that included seminars, hands-on workshops and a
shop tour. In addition, 13 exhibitors showcased their products.
The conference opened Friday, Sept.
25, with an inspiring and innovative discussion by Mike Sofie,
Barrett Enclosures, Seattle, who discussed the psychology behind
the sale and sizing-up the customer. Dan Priest, Microsoft,
Portland, Pre. offered a look into the future of interfacing
canvas with computers. Attendees were given the opportunity to
more accurately calculate labor costs by Alan Johnson, Flyer
Canvas Products, Huntington Beach, Calif. Liz Diaz, North Beach Marine
Canvas, San Francisco, Calif. and Holly Juzefczyk, Custom
Canvas of San Pedro, Calif., conducted a discussion on interior
projects and role-played how to develop customer relations.
On Saturday, Sept. 26, attendees
toured Barrett Enclosures where John Barrett demonstrated
patterning away from the dock. Attendees returned to see exhibits
