LSA OPEN BRINGS
WCPA MEMBERS TO THE LINKS
The second annual LSA (Leukemia
Society of America) Open golf tournament was held
July 24th at Maplewood Golf Course in
Renton, Wa. Rainer Industries and The Farwest Group
sponsored the event along with major
corporate sponsorship from EGE Sun System, Eide
Industries, Glen Raven Mills & The Astrup Co.
This year's tournament was a shotgun
team format. The event combines getting away
from the office for a day, playing
some golf, while raising money for a good cause. Over
135 players got participated in the
event. Don Araiza and Joe Belli of Eide Industries get
the award for traveling the longest
distance just to play golf. (This reporter likes their
All in all over 30 WCPA
members and employees participated in the tournament. No major
casualties were reported, however
Angie Kramer of the Astrup Co. did have a near tragic
incident involving her golf cart and a
fellow golfer.
Once again, this year's tournament
proceeds combined with the auction raised over
$10,000 for The Leukemia Society of
America. Thank you to all who participated and helped make
the LSA Open a huge success.
